At Maison Soto, our products are of natural origin, in accordance with ISO standard 16128. To meet this standard, the proportion of renewable, plant-derived ingredients must exceed 50% of the formulation. In the case of our products, this proportion is most often above 80%. We have chosen not to offer products that are 100% natural according to IFRA, in order to retain the freedom to use certain synthetic ingredients when no natural equivalent exists and their cosmetic or olfactory properties are irreplaceable.

Yes. All Maison Soto products comply with the standards established by IFRA (International Fragrance Association). Certain fragrance ingredients have maximum concentrations authorised by IFRA depending on the product category (perfume, candle, cream, room spray, rinse-off vs. leave-on, etc.), as exposure risk varies according to use. Other substances are prohibited or restricted by IFRA, including several allergens.

Yes, but with a simple precaution first. If your skin often reacts to cosmetic products in general, we recommend being cautious with any product you use, no matter how natural it is. Our formulations are of natural origin and contain essential oils, which may contain allergens. We recommend reading the full ingredient list on the label to make sure none of them are likely to cause you an allergic reaction. As a tip: apply a small amount of the product to your forearm, and if no reaction occurs within 24 hours, you can then use it on any area of your body with almost complete safety.

Our brand strictly bans these molecules. Endocrine disruptors are substances (natural or synthetic) that interfere with an organism's hormonal (endocrine) system by mimicking, blocking, or disrupting the action of natural hormones (oestrogens, thyroid, testosterone, etc.). Some of these substances, such as phthalates, parabens, BHT or certain UV filters, may be used in cosmetic products. We use clean alternatives and comply with European and IFRA standards, which are the strictest in the world for ensuring hormonal safety.

All of our products are vegan, since they are composed mainly of natural extracts that come from plants, flowers and leaves. The active ingredients most used in our cosmetics are: Aloe Vera, Rosehip, Argan Oil, Shea Butter, Calendula, Soy and Sweet Almond. All our cosmetics are cruelty free. We have never tested products on animals and we do not use ingredients of animal origin.

Unlike silicones, which coat the hair and can build up over time, these natural ingredients are absorbed and work with your hair's own structure.
